Eligibility / Minimum required qualification
A candidate who seeks admission to the course shall have passed plus two examinations with the prescribed percentage of marks (including languages) at the time of admission. The candidate should have secured a minimum of sixty percent (60%) marks for the plus two examinations if he/she pursued science group. The candidates who are from the commerce/arts/humanities stream shall have a minimum of fifty-five (55%) percentage of marks for the plus two examinations.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST communities or belonging to SEBC communities with a pass in the plus two examination with 50% percent marks are entitled to seek admission.

The relaxation in pass percentage marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST /SEBC communities will be decided by CUSAT through its orders from time to time.

Minimum qualification required for B.LET. – B.Tech. Lateral Entry Programmes except Instrumentation and Control Engineering are :
-> Any three-year Diploma in Engineering / Technology awarded by a Board of Technical Education recognised by the Department of Technical Education, Government of Kerala, with not less than 60% marks.
->Students with DPT (Diploma in Plastic Technology) and DPMT (Diploma Plastic Mould Technology) of CIPET are accepted through Lateral Entry to B.Tech. Polymer Science and Engineering.
-> 3 year Diploma in Plastic Technology and Diploma in Plastic Mould Technology offered by CIPET is included in the eligibility criteria for admission to the B.Tech. Lateral Entry in B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering.
The Minimum qualification required for B. LET. – B.Tech. Lateral Entry programme in Instrumentation and Control Engineering : 3 years diploma in Instrumentation or Electronics awarded by a board recognized by the department of technical education, Govt. of Kerala, with not less than 60% marks.

Any person who has passed the Bachelor\'s Degree with 50% marks in the aggregate (All Subjects) in any discipline of a University recognized by the Cochin University of Science and Technology can apply for admission to the course. SC / ST / SEBC candidates are eligible for relaxation of 5% of marks in their qualifying degree. Candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examination may also apply in anticipation of their results. However, the mark lists obtained in the qualifying examination shall be produced at the time of admission. Those who fail to produce mark lists shall not be considered for admission.
