The CUSAT CAT 2026 examination will be conducted as a Computer Based Test on 9th, 10th and 11th May 2026. Candidates are advised to regularly refer to the prospectus and time table published on the website https://admissions.cusat.ac.in for details and updates.

Yes, the Right to Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 is implemented at CUSAT. Candidates applying for Common Admission Test (CAT 2026) who wish to claim special reservation under the Differently Abled Candidates/Blind/Intellectualy Disabled Candidates category as applicable, while filling up online application for CAT 2026.
There is no difference between PWD (Person With Disability ) and DAC (Differently Abled Candidates ) as far as CUSAT CAT admission portal is concerned. The words PWD and DAC is used intermittingly in Academic Prospectus 2026 and Online registration portal without any difference in meaning.
Yes, candidates who wish to get admission for B.Tech Marine Engineering at KMSME in CUSAT, should register for CAT 2026. The provision for registration will be provided after the publication of results of IMU. The admission to B.Tech Marine Engineering programme at KMSME will be based on the ranklist of the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Indian Maritime University. Hence candidates opting B.Tech Marine Engineering programme will have to attend CET conducted by IMU and have to register for CAT 2026. The provision for registration and uploading of rank details will be provided after the publication of results of IMU.
Yes. Candidates other than Indian citizens who hold a valid OCI card are eligible to apply for CAT 2026. As per judgement in WP(c) No.891 of 2021 dated 03.02.2023 of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, OCI candidates who obtained OCI status before 04/03/2021 are eligible to be treated at par with Indian citizens solely for the purpose of admission. However, PIO/OCI candidates are not eligible for any kind of reservation. Applicants who have secured OCI status after 04/03/2021, are eligible olny for NRI seats and seats reserved for OCI & PIO candidates and such applicants required to pay an additional amount of Rs.5000/- along with the prescribed application fee.
Candidates who wish to be considered to the supernumerary seats reserved for CUET PG candidates for the PG programmes offered by CUSAT for academic year 2026 – 27 should register for CUET(PG) – 2026 through CUET PG Website and appear CUET exam. The candidate should invariably complete the CAT application process by paying the necessary application fees. The candidates will have to submit the CUET details through their CUSAT CAT 2026 profile after CUET rank list is published. A rank list for CUET seats of CUSAT will be created from the CUET Scores and admission given accordingly. (refer Chapter 13 of CUSAT Prospectus 2026).
In all PG programmes, 10% of the sanctioned strength is reserved as supernumerary seats for the admission of candidates based on the CUET rank. However CUET based reservation is does not apply to MBA programmes.
Yes. For such candidates provision for registration of CAT 2026 given separately. All the candidates are required to register and create a candidate profile for CAT 2026. If a candidate registers their intention to be considerd in the CUET reserved seats only, the allotment of such candidates will be considered based on the CUET rank list against the seats reserved for CUET candidates.
Yes. Such candidates must register for CAT 2026 and can apply CUET reserved seats through their candidate profile for CAT 2026. If a candidate appears for CAT 2026 and also register their intention to be considered for the CUET reserved seats, the allotment of such candidates will be considered based on the CAT rank (GATE rank in the case of M Tech programmes) against the general/eligible reservation seats first. If they do not receive allotment from CAT rank list they will be considered for CUET reserved seats based on the CUET rank list.
